Planning for what happens when you die can be confronting, emotional, and confusing. But it’s something we all need to do. Especially when you’ve got a lot to protect – young children, farming assets, a business, and/or property portfolio.
Imagine if something were to happen and you hadn’t written down who you’d want to be the Guardians of your children, or if your adult children started fighting over the farm that has been in your family for generations?
It might be something you’ve put off, until now, because it seems too daunting, too expensive, something you can do “later”, or a bit morbid – because let’s face it, no one wants to think about what happens when they die.
Whatever your concerns may be. You have your individual reasons for landing here. You know deep down having the right documents in place is important. And we’re here to help and run you through all your options to draft up a properly advised Will that will give you and your family peace of mind that no matter what happens, everything will be ok.
Great Southern Wills is led by – Bernadette Duell and Paul Terry – and was born out of a shared vision to ensure everyone in the Great Southern region is taken care of with a carefully prepared Will.
But that’s not how our story starts. Great Southern Wills also begins with a romance…
After working for corporate law firms in Sydney for 12 years for high-profile clients, our resident lawyer Bernadette decided to make the move to Albany in 2012 to fulfil a yearning for helping not only the wealthy but those who really needed Wills and Estate Planning: the farmers, the small business owners and young families.
When Bernadette stepped off the plane in Albany, she didn’t know anyone, arriving with one suitcase far away from the hustle and bustle she was accustomed to.
Within a few months, Bernadette became fully immersed in the local community, falling in love with the Great Southern region and a special someone that lived there, long-time local and financial services professional Paul.
Paul and Bernadette first met while competing in a yacht race, and soon became flatmates, friends, partners, husband and wife, parents and now business owners.
Your first consultation meeting with Bernadette is FREE, and there’s no pressure or obligation to proceed.
In your FREE meeting, we’ll get to know you and discuss all your options. We can have this discussion at our office, over Zoom or in your living room – you choose.
